Work to Weekend Outfits

Happy Thursday friends! On Monday, I shared 4 work to weekend outfits on stories! I got a lot of great feedback so decided to round up the try on for today’s blog post so you can easily refer back to it. I’m also rounding up more workwear finds at the bottom. I plan to update these as I come across more work to weekend wear so this would be a good post to bookmark and come back to over time!

Work to Weekend Outfits – tons of items are 50% off!

Every item is linked with sizing below the photos. Everything fits true to size unless noted otherwise!

Top (oversized fit) | Pants (0P) | Shorts (Similar, Similar)

A button up top is a workwear essential in my book! It’s perfect for tucking in or doing a half tuck for work. You can then wear it untucked over leggings on the weekend or knot it over shorts like I did here.

Top (SP) | White Pants (SP) | White Shorts (25R)

Chambray + white just feels like summer to me! This style of top easily transitions to the weekend by just adding shorts. Chambray can also be paired with a darker colored denim, green, grey, black, pink or really any colored denim too! And, these white linen pants may be my favorite piece from the try on!

White Pants (SP) | Cami (XS) | Cardi (SP) | Shorts (Similar, Similar)

You can never have too many basic white camis! They’re such a staple & so easy to dress up or down! I love the button detail on this one.

One thing I’ll mention too, is don’t be afraid to mix neutrals this Summer! For this workwear look, I mixed ivory with true white and a sand colored cardi, and together they make the perfect Summer outfit!

Skirt (XS – petites should get petite) | Cami (XS) | Tee (SP – size down one for at tighter fit) | Jacket (SP)

Photos really do not do this skirt justice. It is SO pretty in person! I love the button front detail and the darker florals. It’d be perfect for those super hot Summer days when it’s too hot not to wear a skirt to work! If skirts aren’t your thing, these pants are also really flowy and super cute!

Here are some other work to weekend finds that I’ve been loving! I’ve also linked a few shoes and bags that are great for the office or running around town. This style of bag by Madewell or a classic tote is always a go to for me! Holds so much and is great for travel too!

The Perfect Neutral Fall Outfit for Any Occasion

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m largely incapable of buying or wearing anything that isn’t a neutral color in fall/winter. I don’t know why, but I used to be this way year-round until I told myself, “enough is enough Lauren, add some color to your wardrobe!” So, I am actually attempting to break that habit and recently bought a few colorful items I plan to share with you all soon. But for now, we can focus on this neutral fall outfit, which incorporates my favorite white skinnies (that are currently on sale for under $40)!

Wearing white pants in the fall and winter is something I’ve always struggled with. It’s not just because of the “no white after Labor Day” rule, but because there seems to be something inherently wrong with wearing white when the night begins at 4:00 PM, and you’re at risk of getting frostbite any time you step outside. Maybe my Southern readers don’t have this mental problem, but it always seems like white is such a bright, summer color that it’s just too cheery for the winter dreariness. I’ve attempted to overcome this mind frame in the last two years, and I’m here to help you do so as well!

An easy way to style white pants in the fall and winter is to keep your look casual by wearing them with an oversized sweater. Any sweater will do, but I prefer to wear a neutral color to create a clean and crisp look. Call it winter camouflage as I just blend in with my snowy surroundings! You can also “live on the edge” and style white pants with a bold rust colored top like I did in this post or take a different approach by wearing a darker top. Pairing white pants with a lacy top like this one would be a very trendy twist on a typical winter outfit.

I recently picked up this sweater from Nordstrom Rack when I was wandering around downtown after lunch with my sister (oops!). I couldn’t pass it up because it’s under $27 and is perfect for fall/winter. The marled grey color goes well with a pair of white pants and tan booties to create that perfect neutral fall outfit. You can also wear it off the shoulder and either way, it’s long enough to be styled with leggings, which makes it easy to dress down. It comes in burgundy if you too want to add some color to your wardrobe!

Now that we’re done unpacking, I’ve been busy cleaning and doing laundry all week since that fell by the wayside the last two weeks. I finally feel like this apartment is our new home just in time for our first visitors this weekend. A good couple friend of ours is visiting on Saturday, and we can’t wait to show them around our new neighborhood! They used to be our neighbors at our old place, and I miss them so much!

Do you have any fun plans this weekend?!

XO,

Lo

Let’s talk about rewardStyle/LIKEtoKNOW.it! If you follow me on the ‘gram, you’ve likely seen me post photos saying “like or screenshot this to shop it on the LIKEtoKNOW.it app!” Some of you may know what this is but others of you may have no idea what I’m talking about. So, let’s clear that up!

rewardStyle is an invite only affiliate network for bloggers that makes blog and/or social media posts shoppable to anyone through a platform called LIKEtoKNOW.it. A blogger can link her outfit details through a photo on social media so you can instantly access and shop anything she’s wearing. Similarly, when you click on a link in a blog post, it will send you to the product’s site.

Before becoming a blogger, LIKEtoKNOW.it was one of the most fun things to me about scrolling through my Instagram feed. Even if I don’t purchase something, online “window shopping” is one of my favorite things to do (true shopping addict). I would regularly like my favorite bloggers’ photos just to see where they shopped and, more often than not, would find myself purchasing some of their more versatile items because, why not?! It was too easy.

  1. Sign up HERE (takes literally a minute) or download the app from the app store (iPhones only)
  2. Get my outfit details:
    1. On Instagram by

      • Take a “screenshot ” of my post from Instagram and within 10 seconds you’ll have my outfit details in the LIKEtoKNOW.it app! (Don’t worry, you can delete the screenshot later without losing the details in the app!)
      • Enter the hyperlink in the caption of the photo into your browser
    2. Within a blog post –
      • Click on a link about any products (like the ones below the image in this post) to be redirected to the product’s page
      • Edit: Almost forgot this one! You can also click on the product images in a shoppable widget like the one below and be redirected to the product’s page
  3. Shop away!

Here’s the link to my LIKEtoKNOW.it page so you can get an idea of how the shoppable photos look once you enter the app or put the hyperlink into the browser!

Here’s another great article to give you background on where this platform came from.

In personal news, after a very busy month packing and moving, Kev and I are officially moved in to our Minneapolis apartment! We love it here so far! It’s weird being back in a big city as I haven’t lived in one since I studied abroad in the UK, but I’m loving it so far. The amenities alone make it worth it. We’re almost done unpacking and once we have everything put away I’ll be doing a mini-apartment tour on my insta-stories so stay tuned! 😀

Have questions about using the app? Give me a shout, let’s talk!

Have a great weekend everyone!
