Holiday Gifts for Her

Hello friends & happy weekend! Unexpectedly had to take the afternoon off yesterday to deal with a headache. It probably would’ve been okay had I actually picked up my migraine prescription this week. But I didn’t, and then I left my keys in Kevin’s car and was essentially on house arrest all day while he was working. Yet another set of life lessons teaching me to not procrastinate and to remember where I put things – lol. Feeling better today so I wanted to share the second gift guide in my series!!

Earlier this week, I shared a ton of gifts for the men in your life. Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing a gift guide for home (shop my top picks early here) and Monday I’ll be sharing gifts under $30! Today, I’m sharing gifts for her – your sister/SIL, mom/MIL, daughter, niece etc! Same with the men’s gift guide, almost every piece below is under $75!

I’m sharing some top picks in the graphic below as well as my full round up at the bottom!

Holiday Gifts for Men

It’s that time of year!! This week I will be rolling out the holiday gift guides! I plan to share every gift guide this week and then update them throughout the coming weeks as we get closer to the Christmas holiday. I figure this will help those who like to get their shopping done early and help eliminate stress for those who wait until the last minute (like yours truly, haha!).

Next week, I’ll be sharing holiday outfit inspiration (with both casual and dressier options) as well as home decor. I’ll keep all of the gift guides + outfit posts under the “holiday” tab at the top of the screen so you can access them easily! I recommend bookmarking the holiday tab so you can easily refer back to it when you’re ready to shop or need inspo!

Today, I’m sharing my gift guide for him. When I polled you guys finding a gift for your husband/boyfriend, dad/FIL and brother were some of the top requests. I mean, aren’t they the hardest people to shop for?! Not only do they rarely give you suggestions, but when they want something they usually just go out and buy it themselves – so frustrating! I’ve spent some time digging and researching to compile a huge list of the best gifts for him. Most of these are under $75 so will keep you in budget while still providing a thoughtful gift! And, because most of you said you do your shopping at Nordstrom, Target and Amazon you’ll find that most of these gift suggestions are from those retailers!

I’m sharing some top picks in the graphic below as well as my full round up at the bottom! My top gift recommendations are this beer cap map (click on the Etsy store to find your state!) and this pair of slippers that Kevin loves + ship prime!

Invisibobble hair ties (my favorite to use!) | Winter Eye Palette | Beanie – BP, Northface | Jack Black Lip Balm SetMr Coffee Mug Warmer | Voluspa Candle Set | Holiday Coffee Mugs | “Butter” Slipper Socks | Mittens | Popsocket

Above are a whole host of stocking stuffers, but I’m detailing my top 3 ideas below!

Cold-Weather Accessories: Mittens & a Cute Beanie

Some may think this is the equivalent to getting socks in your stocking, but I’m here to change your mind!

Mittens are both a practical and fashionable gift. They’re also an item that can easily get lost throughout the winter and need replacing. And, have you noticed that after the holidays, mittens (along with other cold-weather accessories) are super hard to find? Like almost impossible?! While growing up and in college, I always asked Santa for mittens. The more the better, and there’s nothing like that new fuzzy inside to start the winter off right.

Pompom beanies are very on trend right now and for a good reason. This is another item that is both practical and fashionable. With most coming in under $40, this stocking stuffer is really a no brainer. I’m personally loving this beanie by BP and this one from Northface. P.S. I STILL wear my Northface beanie I got in 2009. They do not disappoint!

Divide Up a Gift Set: Lip Balm or Candles

Lip balm is a great stocking stuffer because it can be gender neutral. Getting a set like this one by Jack Black from Sephora would be perfect to split up amongst people. I personally love this lip balm and use it every day. And, it’s guy-approved – Kevin even likes to use it! This set comes in at $25 with 4 lip balms.

This set of 5 candles from Nordstrom would also be perfect to divide up amongst family members or to give out as separate gifts to girlfriends! With 5 candles for $40, this set is well-priced considering one candle from Bath and Body Works can be $24!

Coffee Mug Warmer

You should see people’s reactions when I show them this mug warmer. Fascination, disbelief, intense desire (maybe that’s just me), are just a few responses.  Essentially, this mug warmer keeps your coffee warm. WHAT?! I KNOW! It’s under $10 (cue heart eyes 😍) and works with any coffee mug. I’ve tested this with a regular ceramic mug and a paper cup a la Starbucks. It’s perfect for your favorite coffee addict and is just small enough to fit into a stocking! I’ve already ordered one for my dad who habitually reheats his coffee!

How’s your holiday shopping going? Are there any people you find it hard to shop for? Remember to check out my other holiday gift guides if you’re still stuck on a few people!

Gift Guide for the Outdoorsman

Lifestyle blogger Lauren Meyer of Lo Meyer | Life With Lo Gift Guide for the OutdoorsmanBringing you the second gift guide in my holiday series! Today we’ll be discussing my gift guide for the outdoorsman in your life. I know I’m not the only one who finds men hard to shop for! And, I also know I can’t be the only one who finds their apathetic answers to what they want infuriating – just tell me what you want for Christmas! LOL! Last year, my sister and I got together to get my dad a new grill for Christmas. It was portable so he could take it to games at Lambeau and also use it at home. It really got me thinking of out-of-the-box ideas for the men in my life besides the standard books and gift cards!

Kevin is very into the outdoors. He’s an avid hiker and landscape photographer so spends a lot of time outside in the winter (even in freezing cold temps)! And, in my area of the country, hunting is also really big with a lot of people going out this time of year and throughout the winter. Even in the warmer months, hiking state trails and tailgating are pretty big. So, if you’re trying to think of gifts for an avid outdoorsman you’re in luck! I’ve gotten Kevin’s input on the must-haves for any outdoorsman for all seasons and listed them below. He even clued me in on his top must-haves 😉.

Disclaimer: this is just a FEW items that any outdoorsman could need in his arsenal. Kev repeatedly reminded me that I was “mixing” too many categories (tailgater, hiker, hunter) together and needed separate gift guides for each (someone is very detail-oriented). We’ll keep it simple for now and just include the top picks for this guide!

North Face Boots

If your outdoorsman likes to be outside in cooler temps, consider some North Face boots like these ones. Kevin had his North Face boots for 10 years (literally) before they fell apart. He said these are a close comparison.

Carhartt Hat

This gift extends beyond your outdoorsman’s hobbies because Kevin wears his beanie all the time. Coming in at around $10, this is a very affordable gift for any guy on your list!

YETI Cooler

Don’t let this price tag scare you! It certainly scared me upon first sight, but Kev assures me these are the BEST coolers out there. They keep your contents cold for days. If your outdoorsman is out for multiple days or likes to camp in warmer weather, this may be just the thing to keep his brews (and all the other essentials) cool.

Portable Flashlight

At first, I didn’t think of even including this on the gift guide. But Kev reminded me how important it is to have a portable, yet powerful flashlight when you’re outside for long periods of time!

Pocket Knife

I kind of feel like this one doesn’t need explanation. If your outdoorsman doesn’t have one or is in need of a new one, this is a very similar model to the ones Kevin has. It’s foldable and very portable. From basic necessities to emergency situations, a basic pocket knife is an essential for any outdoorsman.

I hope this gift guide for the outdoorsman in your life gave you some ideas of what to get! As I said, there were many other things I could list, but this is a good start!

A few blog updates

I did not publish a post Monday because there will be multiple posts this week in honor of it being CYBER WEEK (WOOO!!!). In case you live under a rock, Cyber Week is the week of Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday when the best sales of the year happen! If you look at the top bar on my site, you’ll see a category labeled “Holiday Shop & Sales”. Here you’ll find my gift guides, holiday wishlist, and my sale guides. The sales are already starting to roll out! However, the best sales will for sure be happening Thanksgiving-Cyber Monday. Stay tuned tomorrow morning for an update on the sales happening Thanksgiving day along with my top picks. I’ll also update that tab with top picks/sales for Black Friday and Cyber Monday!

Lastly, my tech team was able to change all of my site colors to better fit my branding!! The site now has an overall neutral grey look with pops of lighter pink (instead of light pink everywhere). I’m sure we’re all well aware of my love for neutrals given I discuss it in multiple posts – LOL. Right now, the drop down links appear very light when you hover over them. This should be fixed soon! Other than that, let me know what you think!
