NSale Public Access – Outfit Round Up!

Happy Friday peeps! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to EVERYONE today at 11:30 AM CST. So I’m rounding up all of the outfits I’ve worn in the last week that have anniversary sale pieces. I expect some restocks today! Although, most of the items below should be in stock. If an item you want below is out of stock though my suggestion is to open it in a new tab and refresh periodically throughout the day. Once it restocks in your size, check out immediately! Remember, Nordstrom has free shipping and returns so there’s no harm in checking out to ensure you get the piece you and returning later if it doesn’t work out for you!

I’m also doing a try on of some new items this afternoon on Instagram stories. Make sure to tune in!

See all of my dressing room try-on outfits from last week HERE. And my guide to the sale HERE. I’m sharing the NSale top sellers as well as faves from Beauty, Home and Jewelry/Accessories at the end of this post! Happy Shopping!

For the outfits below, I’ve organized them to show similar pieces together. I’m also sharing why I love each staple piece. For example, the first black top is styled a total of 3 ways. This way you can get as many outfit ideas as possible!

Every item is linked below the photo with sizing. Everything fits TTS unless noted otherwise.

This sweater this by far one of the most versatile pieces from the sale! You can style it so many ways! It’s light enough to wear now with shorts, with denim in the fall, and layer it under a jacket for winter! It’s also long enough for leggings!

If you were around in 2018, you probably remember this fleece. Well this year’s version has more detail (like the black trim) and is more fitted, which I LOVE. Makes it easier to wear around town instead of just lounging at home!

LOFT 2018 Friends & Family Sale Round Up + Try-On

Popular Style Blogger Lauren Meyer of The Lo Meyer Blog shares a LOFT 2018 Friends & Family Sale Round Up + Try-On

Happy Wednesday everyone! And a beautiful Wednesday it is because LOFT is having their event of the season! The LOFT 2018 Friends & Family sale is underway with 40% off EVERYTHING (code: FRIENDS) and card members earn double points now through 10/22. This means card members get a $20 rewards card for every $200 spent rather than the normal $400! Cheers to that!

If you’re a frequent flyer here, you know we’re all fans of LOFT. I fondly remember the day I walked into LOFT with my mom and sister shortly after graduating college and signed up for my own card. My sister convinced me it was the only retailer card I needed upon graduating, and she was kinda right! I pretty much only bought my clothes from LOFT for a solid 3 years (lol). I have since branched out, but they’re still my go-to for quality basics for every season! Most of my basic cami’s, jeans and cardigans are from there. They have a great selection of regular, petite and now plus size options at affordable prices!

I do a TON of LOFT try-ons over on the ‘gram (all saved under my LOFT highlight). I regularly post these to my LIKEtoKNOW.it profile, but they don’t always make it to the blog in one place. I’m rounding up all of my in-stock try-on’s and outfits from the last 6 weeks or so in this post so it’s easy for you all to shop your favorite items! Altogether, we’re talking 20+ outfits made up of different LOFT pieces!

I usually round-up my current LOFT favorites on this page. I’ve updated my selections with their new arrivals and also placed those below the try-ons in case you’re looking for something new! And, on Friday, I’ll be heading to LOFT for another try-on so stay tuned! If you have requests of items you want to see, please DM me on Instagram or email me at lomeyerblog@gmail.com

For sizing – I find that, in general, LOFT tends to run TTS or slightly big. I’m typically a 24-25P in denim and a XSP-SP in tops or XXS-XS in regular tops. For reference, I am 5’2″ and anywhere between 105-110lbs. I typically wear 25P/0 or XS/SP at most retailers! When in doubt, read the reviews or order two and return the one that doesn’t fit! They have a very easy return policy! And, pro tip – you can still order through my links but avoid shipping charges but choosing in store pick up!

September Instagram Roundup – Top 10 Blog Bestsellers

Popular Style Blogger Lauren Meyer of The Lo Meyer Blog shares September Instagram Roundup - Top 10 Blog Bestsellers

Hello & Happy Wednesday peeps!

It is officially October (how, I swear July was yesterday?!). Time flies when you’re shopping the good deals and enjoying the beautiful Minnesota Fall weather! 😋

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a blog bestsellers roundup. And, I know you all have loved them in the past, so I thought it was time to start them up again! If you’re new around here, I’m rounding up the top 10 bestselling items with blog readers/Instagram followers for the month of September! Some of these will be old faithfuls (like these leggings), but some are new finds like this $15 blanket scarf. $15! Need I say more?

Without further ado, the top 10 bestselling items for September:

  1. Spanx Leggings: These leggings were a huge hit this month. Maybe it’s because I wear them constantly (see below for evidence). Or maybe, it’s because they’re the perfect mix of comfy and chic. I’m willing to bet both! I waited to grab these leggings for almost a year because of the price tag. Faux leather leggings can’t possibly be worth that price, right?! Wrong! I’m now deciding which version to get next that’s how much I love them! They look like real leather more so than my budget friendly faux leather leggings, and they suck you in at all the right places. I suggest sizing up one size unless you want some serious tummy control! Wearing size S here for reference (normally XS/0/25 in leggings & pants). You can also find them in a petite version here (eeek!!!) and a more budget friendly option I also own here.

2. Loft Bar-Back Sweater: One of my favorite purchases recently, this bar-back sweater was also one of the most purchased items this past month! The color just screams fall and, even at full price, it’s affordable! I’ve styled it a few ways because the color is so versatile. It looks great with denim and olive colored pants! If rust-brown isn’t your style, it also comes in a light pink color. I’m wearing a SP here & it fits TTS (comes in regular & petite sizes).

3. Amazon Henley: This best-selling item is actually the budget friendly version of the top I’m wearing below. But, I have several blogger friends who own the Amazon version and love it! Safe to say, it’s a good dupe! Coming in under $20 + prime shipping it’s really a no brainer. This style is perfect for lounging and wearing out on the weekends! It looks equally cute on it’s own or with a scarf. There’s also a ton of ways to style it – unbuttoned and tied, tucked in, untucked or undone like a cardigan. As with all Amazon items, I suggest reading the reviews to ensure you get the size that’s best for you!

4. Amazon Blanket Scarf: I feel like I hit the jackpot with this $15 scarf! Not only is it prime eligible, but the quality shocked me! I also own it in the blue version, but really like this red and brown version for Fall. It seems to go with everything and is easy to wear as a regular scarf or as a wrap! Like I said in my capsule wardrobe post, a blanket scarf is a Fall staple so picking up this budget friendly one is a must!

5. Cardigan: Another piece from my capsule wardrobe collection, this burnt-orange cardigan has been a best-seller for several months. It’s perfect for layering and comes in tons of colors. So, if you’re like me, you buy all the colors considering it’s only $49! This one doesn’t come in petite sizes; however, I found that sizing down one does the trick. I’m wearing a XXS here and normally would be a XS in sweaters (SP in petite!)

Popular Style Blogger Lauren Meyer of The Lo Meyer Blog shares September Instagram Roundup - Top 10 Blog Bestsellers

6. Zella Leggings: My Zella leggings were another hot item on the blog in September! They feel like Athleta or Lululemon quality for about half the price ($58). They’re not see through and have been yoga tested by yours truly! If you’re looking for an even more budget friendly alternative, these $25 leggings from Amazon gave the Zella ones a run for their money! Both leggings fit TTS (wearing XS in both for reference). Neither come in petite, unfortunately, but given they’re high waisted the bunching on the ankles wasn’t bad enough for me to return them.

Popular Style Blogger Lauren Meyer of The Lo Meyer Blog shares September Instagram Roundup - Top 10 Blog Bestsellers

7. Aerie Sweatshirt: Are we sensing a theme here? Seems that you all love your comfy clothes as much as I do! My mom & dad could certainly attest to my love for comfy clothes given the hoard of sweatshirts I kept on the back of my door in high school 😂. This sweatshirt does not disappoint! In my opinion, it’s the equivalent of the light pink sweatshirt that you all loved from the Spring & Summer! It’s budget friendly (under $50) and is made to wear over leggings – longer in back. It’s comes in a few colors, I have the Koko Brown color here but also love the plum color! I’m wearing an XS and suggest sizing down one if you’re looking for a tighter fit. It’s definitely oversized!

Popular Style Blogger Lauren Meyer of The Lo Meyer Blog shares September Instagram Roundup - Top 10 Blog Bestsellers

8. Loft Pocket Cardigan: Not to reference another post for the third time (lol), but remember when we discussed the Pantone color report in the capsule wardrobe post? This is one of the “trendy” colors for Fall! Shocked? I was too! Fall to me is all about muted browns, greens and reds. Purple? You probably belong in Spring. But, think again! This color is one of the big ones for Fall and is a great way to bring a brighter feel into the gloomy months ahead! This cardigan is ridiculously soft and is perfect for layering! It fits TTS (wearing SP) and comes in regular, petite AND plus sizes!!! Hurry if you want this one though, last time I checked sizes were flying off the shelf. See, told you it was a trend worth noting! 😉

9. Loft Tweed Hoodie: Another trend that’s big this Fall is tweed. And I love this casual take on the trend! This sweatshirt is the perfect weight for these transition months and is one that is easy to wear out without feeling “frumpy”. It would look equally cute paired with jeans and booties. Coming in under $70 it’s definitely on the pricier side but, in my opinion, worth every penny considering you can dress it up or down! I’m wearing a XS here and it fits TTS (works for regular & petite!)

Popular Style Blogger Lauren Meyer of The Lo Meyer Blog shares September Instagram Roundup - Top 10 Blog Bestsellers

10. Abercrombie Fleece: And last, but certainly not least, is the infamous Abercrombie Fleece. This has been a popular item since it first appeared on my Instagram 2 months back or so. It really reminds me of my North Face for a few reasons. It’s a slimmer fit (not oversized, like this fleece). And, it’s cozy but also stylish. However, it’s a fraction of the price of what a North Face would be! It comes in about 5 colors including a really pretty olive and white one. I’m wearing an XS here and would say to size up if you want more of an oversized fit!

And, in case you’re curious, a majority of you do your shopping at Nordstrom, Loft, Amazon, American Eagle & Abercrombie. All great quality retailers that are also budget friendly!

Out of these bestsellers, what was your favorite?

See you all Friday for a post on my skincare routine! Trust me, you don’t want to miss this one!

5 Favorite Flats for Fall Under $50

popular style blogger Lauren Meyer of The Lo Meyer Blog shares 5 Favorite Flats for Fall under $50

Today’s post brought to you by someone who is very tired of the heat and ready for cooler temps 😏. Have I mentioned before how much I live for Fall fashion? Sorry in advance, this won’t be the last time I say it! 😋

When I was a corporate gal, I wore a lot of flats in the Fall and Spring. They’re the perfect transition shoe and easy to throw on and go! Because they come in so many styles and colors, you can easily make them the focal point of your outfit or just the finishing touch. But, if you’re like me, finding comfy and affordable flats is a challenge. I used to be the girl who walked around with a box of bandaids for the first week after buying a new pair of flats. For some reason, this style just rubs more than others!

But, after years of being a shoe addict, I’ve been able to narrow down my buying to a few particular retailers that provide both budget-friendly and comfortable options! So, when in the market for new flats (or really any shoes), I head to this retailer or this one. They always keep me on budget and have an endless amount of styles. Today, I’m sharing 5 of my favorite flats for Fall under $50!

And, before we begin, if you’re a blister-prone shoe-lover like yours truly, I highly suggest using this balm on any areas that rub. I got this right before our wedding and have been using the same stick for over 2 years! I no longer need to carry bandaids with any new shoes and it even helps if you’ve already developed blisters. This balm also saved the day when my cousin got married in May, and her shoes started to rub. I lent it to her, and she went as far as to mention it in her thank you card, so you know it’s good stuff!

Click on each image or corresponding number below to shop the product!

Fave Find: My favorite find is hands down these flats from Target. They are a great dupe for the black ones you all see me wear constantly that are $60. With over 100 positive reviews, you know they have to be good! I have the tan ones in my cart and plan to pick them up instead of the nude version of the ones I already have! This style is so classic and perfect for work or wearing out. They come in 5 different colors so you’re sure to find something that fits your style!

Which pair is your favorite?

Turtleneck Body Suit (black)grey, red, white | Flare Jeansblack | Booties (black)tan

Sweater Coat (orange)grey | Purse

In honor of my 27th birthday yesterday, I decided to share 20+ random facts about me! I tried to share different info from that already on my about me page so I hope you find this at least somewhat new and entertaining! Some of these will seem pretty random, but I wanted to have fun with this and give you guys a bit of insight into who I am and how I grew up!

I’m also sharing one of my favorite outfits of late. This turtleneck bodysuit has become a recent outfit staple for me and is currently on sale for $20!! Bodysuits are so nice because they give that tucked-in look without all the bulkiness of extra fabric. It fits true to size and works for petite ladies! Also loving this “coatigan” (coat + cardigan). I wore it out when it was in the teens, and it kept me warm. It’s under $100 and extremely versatile (also comes in grey!). Definitely one of the best purchases I made this fall!

So let’s start with some basics…
  1. The first thing you should know, I’m a cat lover and believe I was probably a cat in another life. I’m not saying I don’t like dogs, I just grew up with a cat, and, to be honest, dogs are literal mouth breathers. Can’t handle. (Disclaimer: Kevin is a dog lover, and we will eventually get a dog. No complaints from me as long as it’s a big dog and fluffy).
  2. I grew up in a small city outside of Madison, WI and lived in Madison for most of my adult life. If you ever travel to Wisconsin, Madison is a must-see. It’s the state capitol and on an isthmus so surrounded by two gorgeous lakes!
  3. I attended the University of Wisconsin for my undergrad and have a degree in English Lit with European Studies.
  4. Why English? I saw Macbeth at American Player’s Theatre when I was 15 and was hooked on Shakespeare immediately (#nerdalert). He wrote 38 plays, and I’ve read over 30 of them, most multiple times. King Lear is my favorite. I took an entire class on different adaptations of King Lear while studying abroad.
  5. On to point number 5! I studied abroad for about 6 months when I was 21 in Leeds, England. I LOVED IT. So many people wonder why I studied in Leeds v. London. One, London is crazy expensive. Two, I wanted to be surrounded by British people because, back then, I believed I was born not only in the wrong century, but in the wrong country. I got my wish and lived on a floor with 4 amazing British women!
  6. I’ve traveled to 10 different countries and am counting down the days when I can take Kevin back to Europe to explore!
A bit about my family…
  1. I come from a pretty small, close-knit family with a rather large extended family. I have one sister who is 8 years older than I am, and she’s married with 3 little ones! Being an aunt is the best thing! And with my sister’s family living outside of Minneapolis, we’re able to see them much more often which we’re really enjoying!
  2. My parents have always been two of my biggest supporters and two of my biggest role models. They’re both retired but you would never know it. My dad is a chair for the American Library Association and still works closely with the federal government on various grants and committees (he’s in DC as I’m writing this!) My mom is a force to be reckoned with! She’s currently mayor of my hometown, and we can’t go anywhere in Madison without running into someone she knows (and then having a 20-minute conversation).
  3. My biggest fashion influences growing up were my maternal grandma, my aunts on my dad’s side, and my sister. My grandma was very into sewing her own clothes when she was younger. I even have two of her purses from the 40’s! My aunts have always been the embodiment of fashion, and it’s likely where I get my obsession with shoes from. And my sister and I have very similar tastes and, more than once, have unknowingly bought the same clothes!
  4. This is something I talk about quite frequently, but I have a serious love for shoes that goes back for as long as I can remember. I have a memory of getting to school in 8th grade and remembering that I forgot the pair of heels I wanted to change into (in Wisconsin winters, you wear boots to school and change!). I actually called my mom and asked her to bring the shoes to school. She didn’t LOL. Also, I may have been the only person in my high school to wear snake skin heels…
  5. In that same vein, back in high school I was religious about outfit planning. To the point where I kept an outfit journal so that I never repeated the same outfit in a 3-month period. To be honest, it amazes me that it took me 26 years to figure out I should be in the fashion industry!
  6. A bit of a back story on the blog (which you can read more about here) – I originally started my Instagram account so I could post makeup and beauty shots. But realizing that was hard to juggle with a full-time office job, I started doing more natural beauty/outfit of the day posts. You can’t really walk into an office with a fully glammed out face, falsies on and everything! And my Instagram really organically evolved into the blog. I’m still very much a newbie and learning but I’m enjoying every second of it!
  7. I’m a pretty short lady – I’m 5’2” but am built like my dad’s side so have a shorter torso and longer legs (relatively speaking). For the most part, I like this. I can usually get away with buying regular length pants but crop tops are another story!
A bit of random stuff about me…
  1. I’m a sucker for a good novel, and I find the best way to relax is to curl up and read a really good book (English major, remember?). And, although I love Shakespeare, I’ve expanded my horizons into different genres like post-apocalyptic literature and suspense/mysteries. However, my favorite novels of all time are still Jane Eyre and Gone with the Wind. They are so timeless!
  2. I typically listen to pop music or a mix of indie/pop/folk. My favorite artist is for sure Katy Perry. KatyCat since ’08 and haven’t looked back since! I’m going to see her in December for the 2nd time and am beyond excited. I also love Taylor Swift and am completely over that whole feud! I actually remember sitting in a high school friend’s car in 2007 when TSwift’s “Our Song” came on the radio and her saying, “Yeah, this is a new singer, Taylor Swift, she’s pretty good” LOL – we had no idea how big she would become!
  3. My favorite types of food are Mexican and Chinese. Although if I had to just choose one food that I love, it would probably be cheese. I KNOW that is horribly stereotypical of me coming from the cheese state and all, but it’s just so good! Knowing that dairy makes me break out horribly literally breaks my heart.
  4. When I was younger, I was very into performing. I was an Irish Dancer for almost 10 years, was in a children’s play group and was even the lead in my high school’s musical. I still love to sing but now my audience is usually just Kevin and the boys (AKA my cats).
  5. Which leads into my next topic, my boys! I get a ton of questions about my cats’ names since they have human names. We got George in fall of 2013 when I was still overly obsessed with British history so I named him after King George I. Technically, George was “my cat”. Kevin then got Frank and named him after “Frank the Tank” from Old School. Not even joking. I have a vivid memory of Kevin chanting “FRANK THE TANK” as we drove back from the humane society lol!
  6. I have a HUGE sweet tooth and really have no control over my eating (I’ve been known to eat peanut butter by the spoonful). So, Kevin and I literally keep no snack food or sweets in the apartment besides pretzels LOL. I’ve founded my daily Vega One shakes are just sweet enough to trick me into thinking I’m having chocolate with breakfast.
  7. I have a love/hate relationship with working out because I hate, HATE cardio. I can never get past the feeling like I’m gonna vomit/pass out to get that mythical “runner’s high” people talk about. But, I know how important it is for overall health, and I always feel great after working out. Lately, I’ve been loving PIYO, which is a Beach Body workout (no I’m not a coach). It’s the perfect mix of yoga, pilates and cardio for someone who hates cardio!
  8. When I was 14, I got my first ipod that I still have. You know, the huge, white one with the black and white screen. I’m holding on to it as I’m convinced I’ll be able to sell it for millions someday.
  9. I’ve been a certified Starbucks addict since I was 13 (they hooked me young!). One of the first drinks I tried was a caramel macchiato but hated it because it was too bitter for me LOL. In middle school, white chocolate mochas were my jam. My friends and I would get Starbucks, then walk to Noodles and have buttered noodles and parmesan.

If you couldn’t guess from this post (or all of my others), I was blessed with the “gift of gab” as my mom calls it and often am long-winded. I also like to write a lot (the English major in me!). So, although this was a bit longer than intended, per-usual, I hope you found it enlightening and that you learned a thing or two about me!

Have a great weekend everyone!

xoxo
