Bringing you the second gift guide in my holiday series! Today we’ll be discussing my gift guide for the outdoorsman in your life. I know I’m not the only one who finds men hard to shop for! And, I also know I can’t be the only one who finds their apathetic answers to what they want infuriating – just tell me what you want for Christmas! LOL! Last year, my sister and I got together to get my dad a new grill for Christmas. It was portable so he could take it to games at Lambeau and also use it at home. It really got me thinking of out-of-the-box ideas for the men in my life besides the standard books and gift cards!
Kevin is very into the outdoors. He’s an avid hiker and landscape photographer so spends a lot of time outside in the winter (even in freezing cold temps)! And, in my area of the country, hunting is also really big with a lot of people going out this time of year and throughout the winter. Even in the warmer months, hiking state trails and tailgating are pretty big. So, if you’re trying to think of gifts for an avid outdoorsman you’re in luck! I’ve gotten Kevin’s input on the must-haves for any outdoorsman for all seasons and listed them below. He even clued me in on his top must-haves 😉.
Disclaimer: this is just a FEW items that any outdoorsman could need in his arsenal. Kev repeatedly reminded me that I was “mixing” too many categories (tailgater, hiker, hunter) together and needed separate gift guides for each (someone is very detail-oriented). We’ll keep it simple for now and just include the top picks for this guide!

Backpack | Tent | Boots | Grill | Flashlight | Carhartt Hat | Portable Charger | Cooler | Sleeping Bag | Pocket Knife | Thermos
If your outdoorsman likes to be outside in cooler temps, consider some North Face boots like these ones. Kevin had his North Face boots for 10 years (literally) before they fell apart. He said these are a close comparison.
This gift extends beyond your outdoorsman’s hobbies because Kevin wears his beanie all the time. Coming in at around $10, this is a very affordable gift for any guy on your list!
Don’t let this price tag scare you! It certainly scared me upon first sight, but Kev assures me these are the BEST coolers out there. They keep your contents cold for days. If your outdoorsman is out for multiple days or likes to camp in warmer weather, this may be just the thing to keep his brews (and all the other essentials) cool.
At first, I didn’t think of even including this on the gift guide. But Kev reminded me how important it is to have a portable, yet powerful flashlight when you’re outside for long periods of time!
I kind of feel like this one doesn’t need explanation. If your outdoorsman doesn’t have one or is in need of a new one, this is a very similar model to the ones Kevin has. It’s foldable and very portable. From basic necessities to emergency situations, a basic pocket knife is an essential for any outdoorsman.
I hope this gift guide for the outdoorsman in your life gave you some ideas of what to get! As I said, there were many other things I could list, but this is a good start!
A few blog updates –
I did not publish a post Monday because there will be multiple posts this week in honor of it being CYBER WEEK (WOOO!!!). In case you live under a rock, Cyber Week is the week of Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday when the best sales of the year happen! If you look at the top bar on my site, you’ll see a category labeled “Holiday Shop & Sales”. Here you’ll find my gift guides, holiday wishlist, and my sale guides. The sales are already starting to roll out! However, the best sales will for sure be happening Thanksgiving-Cyber Monday. Stay tuned tomorrow morning for an update on the sales happening Thanksgiving day along with my top picks. I’ll also update that tab with top picks/sales for Black Friday and Cyber Monday!
Lastly, my tech team was able to change all of my site colors to better fit my branding!! The site now has an overall neutral grey look with pops of lighter pink (instead of light pink everywhere). I’m sure we’re all well aware of my love for neutrals given I discuss it in multiple posts – LOL. Right now, the drop down links appear very light when you hover over them. This should be fixed soon! Other than that, let me know what you think!
