Happy Monday friends! We’ve officially made it to closing week – can you believe it?! We close on our house Friday and move Saturday! Eeeek!! When we set our close date, it seemed so far away. I felt like it was going to be automatically Fall as soon as we moved in. And, with these chilly(er) mornings we’ve been having the last few days, it’s truly feels like Fall is almost here. A few weeks ago, I asked what content you gals wanted to see on the blog. And a majority of you requested multiple ways to style your basics. Today, I’m sharing 3 easy and trendy ways to style one of my go to fall basics for transition season – a black long sleeve shirt!
I shared the striped version of this $25 long sleeve shirt from Nordstrom several times last month. It’s a piece that is SO versatile and definitely a staple! And, I love that the raw edge details add a trendy twist to an otherwise basic long sleeve. Plus, it’s super easy to wear now and layer later once it’s a bit cooler!
I picked it up in black over the weekend because, as I said in stories yesterday, I pretty much live in black come Fall/Winter – haha! It comes in TONS of other colors too! I grabbed it in S this time but I’ll be honest, I think I like the fit of the XS better. I would go with your true size on this one!
Today I’m wearing it with shorts because it’s supposed to creep into the low 80’s mid day, and I’m just working around home. But, below, I’m sharing three other ways to style it!
FOR THE OFFICE

An easy way to dress up this long sleeve shirt is to style it with a scarf and boots! This outfit would be perfect for the office. I love this scarf and think the color works great for not only Fall transition but Spring as well! And, the lace trim is right on trend + SO pretty. If you’re looking for something with more Fall colors, I’ve tried on this scarf too and love it!
FOR THE WEEKEND

This top is super easy to dress down by layering a cardigan over it and pairing it with denim and sandals! This cardi was a bestseller in July, and it comes in under $50 – such a steal! I buy a few new colors every year but this “brown cattail” color is really in for Fall. For petites, I suggest sizing down one. I wear XXS for reference.
FOR A NIGHT OUT

Who doesn’t love a comfy but chic outfit for a night out?! The fact that corduroy is trending for Fall makes me so happy! This skirt is SUPER comfy but looks so chic paired with this long sleeve and booties! You could easily throw a cardigan over it to dress it down for a casual afternoon. Like I mentioned last week in stories, don’t be afraid to pair neutrals together. The combo of black and brown together here makes for the perfect outfit! For reference, I sized up one in this skirt (wearing S).
I’ve said it before, but Nordstrom is one of my go-to retailers when it comes to stocking up on both the latest trends and my tried-and-true staples. Their quality, prices and customer service just can’t be beat! And, just a little life hack for my busy bee’s – because we’re pretty busy right now with the move among other things, and because the Nordstrom at Mall of America is massive (bless! lol!), I almost always elect for in store pick up. Have you tried that at your local Nordstrom? They get your order ready SO quickly (2 hrs max), and I’m in and out of MOA in 10 minutes. If you’re local, you know this is nothing short of a miracle.
You can also elect to do curbside pick up and have your items brought out to you! During the NSale, when I had 10 bags to carry out to my car, they even helped me carry them out to the parking ramp. Now if that’s not good customer service, I don’t know what is!
If you don’t have a Nordstrom near you, no worries! Their shipping is free and almost always arrives within a few days! Plus, returns are free too so you don’t have to worry if something doesn’t work out!
I hope this post gave you some inspo on how to style your fall basics! Out of all three outfits, which is your favorite? I can’t decide! I love them all!
xoxo
